Auto Sorter (loot room by category)
One intake box, sorted into separate containers by category.
Not yet verified in game. Standard sorting topology, but not built and measured by us. The filter slot limit is unknown, which matters here more than anywhere else — a sorter is the build most likely to run out of filter slots.
Dump a full inventory into one box and let filtered conveyors deal each category into its own container.
The shape

The splitter opens three paths off the same intake. Each conveyor takes only what its filter allows and ignores the rest.
Filters
A filter slot holds either one item or a whole category. “Weapons” costs one slot; listing fifteen guns costs fifteen. Use categories where one exists, and individual items only where you need to be precise — the resources conveyor here lists stone, wood and metal fragments rather than taking the whole category.
We don’t know the slot limit yet, so assume it’s tight.
Anything unmatched stays in the intake
That doubles as your leftovers pile, but a permanently full intake usually means a filter is missing rather than the system being broken.
What you need
3 conveyors, 1 splitter, 4 storage adaptors, and power for three conveyors.
Watch out
- Overlapping filters are unpredictable. The conveyors don’t run in order, so if two accept the same item, whichever fires first takes it. Keep filters separate.
- One splitter is three outputs. Chain another off one output for a fourth category.
- One adaptor per box, including the intake.
Not built and measured by us yet, and the filter slot limit is still unknown.

This build depends on components whose data is not confirmed (large-wood-box, industrial-splitter), so the derived figures inherit that uncertainty.
